She may be an academically trained double bassist, but Christelle Gualdi had creative ambitions to get her craft to another level. After completing her studies in electro-acoustic composition at the Conservatoire de Paris, she went on to experiment with an ensemble, then as a solo artist, further developing her sound beyond the rules she’d always been taught. Inspired by the cosmos, looking up to a higher state of consciousness, she picked the name Stellar OM Source and soon became a reference in the DIY synthesizer community. Legend says she once scored a mint Roland TB-303 for €25, a machine that would forever mark her work. Associating eery synth harmonies and 303 basslines with the control of a high-level professional, she became a valuable asset in today’s music electronic music landscape.
